Let's talk about guns

OK, we're going to go there again.

No, we're not going to ask for "thoughts and prayers."

That is getting us nowhere.

So is the notion espoused by some that the Second Amendment is going to be abolished. That's not going to happen. Nor should it.

But in the wake of another mass school shooting, and adding 10 names to the list of carnage as a result of the rampage by a disgruntled teen in Santa Fe, Texas, it does seem it's time to talk about guns.

No, I don't have the answers.

No, I don't own a gun.

No, I don't hold that against those who do, who own them lawfully.

But it's clear that a lot of people don't do that.

In the Texas case, the teen apparently got his hands on the guns that were in the house and belonged to his father.

So what do we do?

Well, I'm open to suggestions.
