It's not exactly a secret that this newspaper has been very sympathetic to residents when they complain about the quickly disappearing remaining open space in the county.
We have spent an in ordinate amount of time talking about places like the Beaver Valley out in Concord.
We offered extensive coverage to residents who rose up to oppose what they mocked as 'The City,' a massive development of the old Franklin Mint site along Baltimore Pike in Middletown.
And we were on board for the battle against Cardinal Crossing, another huge development proposed for the grounds of the old Don Guanella School off Sproul Road in Marple.
That controversy is now in the news again. The Cardinal Crossing plan was rejected, but a new developer has come forward with a new plan that would manage to preserve much of the open space on the sight.
Yes, there would be development, including a shopping center featuring a new Wegmans.
Opponents still don't like the idea.
They should tread carefully.
If this plan is rejected, the developer is vowing to move forward with a "by-right" plan that could see the entire tract developed.
Pave Paradise?
Here we go again.
It's on today's editorial page.
