The opioid epidemic is not going away.
That's why it's interesting to note a new tool being used by District Attorney Katayoun Copeland to bring those who peddle this insidious stuff to justice.
It's a new charge called drug delivery resulting in death.
Copeland has now used it twice in recent weeks, lodging charges against people who allegedly sold the drugs that resulted in overdose deaths.
In one instance, the deal was made as a swap of drugs for a PlayStation game. That's the value of life these days.
