Yes, there are more names of Delco high school graduates in today's Daily Times.
No, that was not the original plan.
Each year, we strive to run the names of every high school graduate in Delaware County in a special Grad Tab section.
And once again this year in 'The Class of 2018,' it was a struggle.
For starters, it's not as simple as it looks.v
I am always hearing from school officials that they would love to see more good news about their students - and young people in general - in the newspaper.
And every year we in some instances literally have to beg to get these lists.
Once we get them, we then have to get them into the newspaper.
That is not always as simple as it appears either.
We had several late ads sold for the section this year. When they were added to the pages, it meant not all the names would fit. The last thing you can do in these instances is chop some of the names. So guess what we did? You guessed it.
The names of those inadvertently omitted from the section appear in the paper today.
And we're not done. Late yesterday afternoon, we learned about a problem with names that were cut from the Sun Valley list. We added those to the page, but the udpate never made it into print.
Those names will appear tomorrow.
