Upper Darby feeling the pain of property tax monster

It is the scourge of homeowners in Delaware County.

And it has been now for years.

But it is becoming especially acute in Upper Darby. After the school board last week took $3.5 million and decided to use it for much-needed capital improvements, home owners were looking at still one more increase.

Some residents are now saying they are trapped in their homes, which are being devalued by the district's astronomical tax rates.
