Say hello to your first-place Phillies.
That's right, the Phils are now in sole possession of first place, after they got a quality start from rookie Enyel De Los Santos in his first-ever major league outing Tuesday night. Add in homers from a red-hot Maikel Franco hitting out of the 8-spot (how do you like that move from Gabe Kapler?) and Odubel Herrera and the Phils put away the Mets at CitiField, 7-3.
That's 10 wins in their last 13 games for the Phils, who are sitting a gaudy 12 games over .500.
But all of that could not land them the lead spot on today's Back Page.
That's because that honor rests with the Ridley Area Little League team, which rode a grand slam from T.C. Cobb to a 13-7 win over Aston-Middletown to capture the District 19 Little League Majors crown.
