Remember that great pep rally they held in Media the Saturday before the Super Bowl? Yes, we're sure it was just the thing that pushed the Birds over the top as they captured their first Lombardi Trophy.
Well, tonight the county seat is doing something of a repeat. The borough will kick off the Eagles season - their first as defending Super Bowl champions - with another rally the night before the Birds open their preseason schedule against the Steelers Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field.
The beauty of tonight's event is that it will combine one of the best events in the county - the Wednesday night Dining Under the Stars fest on State Street - with an Eagles pep rally.
On hand will be former Eagle and Delco icon Vince Papale, as well as Ray Didinger, whose play "Tommy and Me" about his push to get Eagles great Tommy McDonald into the NFL Hall of Fame, debuts on stage at the Media Theatre.
It has all the makings of one of the great nights of the summer.
