Apparently I'm not the only one having issues with the Catholic church.
As we indicated in our Sunday story, a group of demonstrators rallied Sunday outside the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul in downtown Philadelphia Sunday.
They are pushing for legislators to act and offer a window of justice for the victims of childhood sexual abuse.
All of this comes in the wake of the damning grand jury report that detailed the horrific actions of more than 300 bishops who abuse at least 1,000 children for decades in six Pennsylvania dioceses.
There is legislation that would lift the statute of limitations to file criminal charges, as well as a very controversial push to open a window for victims of sexual abuse long ago to bring civil action.
It is fervently opposed by the church, many Catholic groups and the insurance industry.
Not exactly a surprise there.
Also interesting is that every state representative and half of the state Senate will be debating these key pieces of legislation at the same time they are running for re-election.
We'll be keeping close tabs on it - and where our local reps stand - for you.
