William Penn families get their day in court

The families of the William Penn School District are going to get their day in court.

They won a huge legal round in their court fight against the way Pennsylvania funds education when Commonwealth Court rejected the argument from leading Republicans in the Legislature that the issue should be declared 'moot,' since it was addressed when the Fair Funding Formula was adopted several years ago.

But the families - and even Gov. Tom Wolf - argued that was not the case.

The court agreed.

Now it appears the case could actually go to trial, unless the pols decide to take up more appeals.

We believe the families - who for far too long have been saddled with an inferior education for no other reason than their zip code, deserve their day in court.
