It doesn't get more Delco than Wawa.
The iconic convenience store - along with its name and logo that derives from the Lenni Indian word for Canadian goose - was born right here in Delaware County. The family farm is in Chester Heights. The first Wawa convenience store opened on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township.
It's coffee is what jump starts many of us most days.
So what could possibly be better?
How about joining Wawa coffee with beer?
It's a match made in Delco.
The convenience store folks have join ed forces with Aston-based craft beer brewer 2SP to concoct something called Coffee Stout.
So how do you think that went over?
Well, when they rolled out the first barrels of it at the Wawa on Naamans Creek Road and Route 202 out in Concord Township, which just happens to be the only Wawa in the region that sells beer, more than 100 people were already lined up outside the store.
