Philly sports offers early Christmas gift for headline writers

Ya gotta' have Hart.

At least if you're a Flyers fan.

Actually, as a longtime headline writer, I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to both the Flyers and Eagles for delivering an early Christmas present to old headline writers like me.

A stud rookie goalie named Hart?

The possibilities are endless.

Thus, our Back page today featuring Carter's debut last night in which he stopped 22 or 24 shots in leading the Flyers to a much-needed 3-2 win over the Detroit Wings.

And how would we sum up this much-needed boost to this flagging franchise, which also marked the debut of interim coach Scott Gordon, who is on loan from the AHL Phantoms?

Hart Transplant.

Naturally.

And don't forget the Eagles.

They have resurrected the story of St. Nick, as Nick Foles has emerged once again to take the reins for an injured Carson Wentz and immediately revive the Birds' playoff chances with a most unlikely win over the L.A. Rams.

Foles will be behind center again Sunday when the Texans in another must-win for the Eagles.

Why do a I see a Monday front page featuring St. Nick.

On Christmas Eve, no less.

Ho, Ho, Ho!
