The Eagles somehow saw their playoff chances improve yesterday on a Sunday when they weren't even playing.
For weeks now the common wisdom has been that the NFC East - or Least depending on your point of view - would have only one representative in the playoffs.
That would be the division winner.
But after a very weird Sunday in the NFL, there now is a potential opening for the Eagles to not win the division, but still snag a wild card spot.
That's because a slew of other NFC teams, including the Bears, Panthers, Vikings and Packers all lost yesterday.
The key to the Eagles at this point would seem to be the Vikings.
The Eagles have to hope to get to at least 9-7 and that the Vikings continue to struggle.
Bottom line? The Birds could now finish second to the Cowboys in the NFC East but still snag a wild card berth.
Yeah, a lot of things have to happen. But as we saw yesterday, that is not outside the realm of possibilities.
Of course all of that means nothing if the Eagles don't win tonight.
Welcome to the playoffs, about a month early.
I have the Birds winning tonight.
It was in Saturday's Dreaded Eagles Pick.
