A very 'special' event for Archbishop Carroll, Saint Katherine

On today's editorial page, we offer a salute for that rarest of events these days - something that unites us, as opposed to driving us apart.

Something very "special" happened recently involving kids from Archbishop Carroll High School, and Saint Katherine Day School, which is housed in the Carroll building.

Kids from Carroll and Katherine do a lot of things together.

But for the first time in state history, a private or archdiocesan school fielded a unified sports team featuring players from both schools.

The game was bocce.

But actually it was the game of life.

And these kids taught us all a lesson.

There are still things that bring us together, instead of driving us apart.
