No, this is not a warning for all men that we are exactly nine days away from Feb. 14. That would be Valentine's Day. Yes, we know, that special someone in your life keeps telling you that she does not want anything for Valentine's Day. Take our word for it. She's lying.
No, instead we come to note the 36th day of 2019.
And, as opposed to what we usually report, we note something that has not happened.
There has not been a single homicide recorded in Delaware County so far in 2019. We went the full month of January without a killing, and are now into the first week in February with the streak intact.
And that includes the city of Chester, the only city in Delaware County and perennially the leader when it comes to homicides in Delaware County.
The number of homicides was down in both Delaware County and Chester in 2017.
