In this business time is kind of relative.
We live in the moment - now more than ever.
That used to mean one day - one print edition - at a time. Now it's more like one minute at a time as we push information out at the speed of light online.
The days blend into weeks, into months.
It's easy to lose track.
That's why I was taken aback yesterday afternoon when a staffer came in and reminded me it was a fairly historic day.
I glanced back over my shoulder and check the date on the framed copy of the front page that I had waited a lifetime to create.
Yes, it was exactly one year ago yesterday - Feb. 5 - that we were exalting in the Eagles' Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots.
Maybe I was blinded by the boredom that Super Bowl LIII subjected us to Sunday night as the Patriots reclaimed the crown in a snooze fest win over the overmatched Los Angeles Rams.
Of course, if you want something depressing, I could remind you that it was exactly 14 years ago today that the Birds under Andy Reid fell to those very same Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX.
Yes, time moves along.
Speaking of moving along, it appears as if Nick Foles is doing just that.
Last night the Eagles informed the Super Bowl MVP who offered a sequel this year in again filling in heroically for an injured Carson Wentz and leading an unexpected charge into the playoffs that the team was picking up its option on his contract. Foles, who now pretty clearly wants the opportunity to go somewhere to be a starter, promptly informed the team he was paying them $2 million to buy out the option on his deal.
The move almost assuredly means Foles will be playing elsewhere next year.
Me? I'd love to see him go to either the Giants or Redskins. Imagine the drama with the Eagles and Carson Wentz facing Foles twice a year.
Not sure how thrilled Wentz would be at that prospect.
