Winter is not over; we will be reminded of that Wednesday

Get the shovel out.

Winter has not gone away.

We are, in fact, still in mid-February.

We will be reminded of that Wednesday.

So enjoy what appears to be a fairly tranquil, sunny Tuesday.

Tomorrow looks like a mess.

This is going to once again put school superintendents in a tricky position. That's because snow is not supposed to arrive until after kids would likely be safely ensconced in school. Getting home might be a different proposition.

You won't have any problem with the morning commute. But snow is expected to hit the region around mid-morning. It will continue through the afternoon, with anywhere from a couple of inches to as much as 5 inches in some areas.

Eventually, rising temperatures will mean it will change over to rain, but that is not expected to happen until later in the day, and it could create icy conditions until it warms up enough for just rain.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch that will start at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Not sure why since it's not supposed to start snowing until about 9:30 or 10.

Sounds like it could be a good day to work from home if you can.
