The fight for Boeing jobs

For years now I have been saying that the Mariner East pipeline project - a remnant of one of Delco's iconic companies, Sunoco - was the most important economic story in the region.

Well, it now has company.

It's coming from another iconic Delco firm.

Boeing.

The recent announcement by the Army that they were cancelling a massive upgrade program at the Boeing plant in Ridley puts thousands of jobs there in jeopardy.

It has been the tradition that Delco's representative in Congress defend those jobs. It goes back to Curt Weldon jousting with the Bush Administration.

Now it's Mary Gay Scanlon's turn.

It's on today's editorial page.
