This gives a whole new meaning to the notion of a "turf war."
In Clifton Heights, they are girding for battle.
The battle "field," as it were, is the borough's beloved athletic fields on Springfield Road.
That is where the Upper Darby School District is considering building a new middle school, the first new building to be constructed in the district in 50 years.
That is not sitting well with Clifton residents, who don't like the way they've been treated and are even less enthused at the prospect of losing their fields and last bit of open space.
On Sunday, they plan to deliver their message to the school board with a huge rally at the fields.
It could be one of the largest rallies in the county in years, with several hundreds people expected to attend.
They are calling the event "Storm the Field."
It's causing a storm, no doubt.
