It was a big day for ballot questions in Delaware County.
Not so much for citizenship.
All four ballot questions sailed to big wins on Primary Day as Delco went to the polls. Or at least a few of us did. Actually, most people sat this one out. Fewer than one in five of those eligible cast ballots.
In Aldan, Marple and Lansdowne, voters approved questions that would end their towns' dry status and allow sales of alcohol in their towns.
In both Aldan and Marple, Giant Supermarket pushed the issue, even having people working the polls as they continued their push for sale of beer and wine. In Lansdowne, the folks looking to create a vibrant downtown, perhaps turning the town into the next Phoenixville or Media, used the measure to woo new restaurants that are much needed.
In Middletown, voters overwhelmingly approved a question calling for the township to incur another $8 million in debt so they can purchase an 80-acre tract of open space from Elwyn.
And yes, I realize today's front page is a bit flippant.
Sip, Sip, Hooray!
Yes, it was a big day for ballot questions in Delco.
