A decade later, another push to develop Chester waterfront

Stop us if you've heard this before.

They're talking about a major development on the Chester waterfront.

Again.

It was exactly a decade ago when this idea was first floated. There was going to be a stadium, hundreds of townhouses, retail shops, a hotel and even a convention center.

Ten years later the stadium - home of Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union (yes, their name is Philadelphia, even though they play their games in Chester - there. But not much else.

Ten years ago the timing could not have been worse.

The economy went off a cliff, and most of the $500 million project was put on hold.

Now another idea is being floated.

The Chester waterfront is a gem that is only now starting to get its due.

It took 10 years.

We hope this time it's for real.
