It is - admittedly - a gargantuan task.
But it's what we do.
Every year we attempt to cover every high school graduation in the county. Inevitably something falls through the cracks. This year we hit them all, but heard from a few charters that we did not get to. I'll make a note for next year.
But we're not done with our salute to the Class of 2019.
As a final farewell to their high school days - and the start of the next part of their young lives - we run the name of every graduating high school senior in the county in the paper.
We call it our Grad Tab.
It appeared in the print edition on Tuesday.
And then on Wednesday I wait for the phone to ring.
Inevitably, there is a problem with one of the lists.
This year was no exception.
Through some kind of tech glitch, a portion of the names of the grads from Sun Valley High School was omitted from their list.
I heard from a parent who very nicely pointed it out.
Those names - of the entire class - appear in print today on Page 14.
I often say it's easy for kids to get their names in the paper.
All they have to do is do something wrong.
Actually, for many kids, this mention in our Grad Tab might be the only time their name ever appears in the newspaper.
Good luck with the rest of your lives to the Class of 2019.
Beware technology. Take my word for it. It's exasperating.
