Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park

Back-To-Back-To-Back.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is probably not the way Jerad Eickhoff wanted to start last night's Phillies game against the Diamondbacks.

That's right, leadoff batter Jarrod Dyson hit Eickhoff's first pitch into the seats. He was promptly followed by Ketel Marte and Deavid Peralta, who also went yard.

By this time Eickhoff probably wished the rain-delayed contest had never started.

The odd thing is that Eickhoff then settled down, retiring 9 straight D-Backs at one point, before giving up two more bombs in the fourth. Eickhoff has now allowed 16 home runs in 57 and a third innings this year.

Last night he wasn't the only victim.

Yes, on a very muggy night, the ball was flying out Citizens Bank Park like a Super Ball.

In total, the two teams combined for a Major League Baseball record 13 dingers.

Scott Kingery hit two for the Phils, who tried to stage a rally after falling into that early hole, only to be buried, 13-8.

There is no truth to the rumor that MLB decided to move the annual Home Run Derby to South Philly. It just looked that way last night.

Get all the details here.
