An appropriate honor in Collingdale

We could have visited just about any town in Delaware County last Thursday to note how Delco was celebrating Independence Day.

There was no shortage of parades, festivities and fireworks.

We chose to go to Collingdale - for a couple of reasons.

First, and foremost, it was the first July 4 celebration since the borough lost the man who was synonymous with their town.

Frank Kelly, 'Mr. Collingdale,' passed away last year.

They honored Kelly's legacy by naming the pavilion in Collingdale Park the Frank Kelly Pavilion.

On today's editorial page, we talk about the man - and why this honor was so appropriate.
