The great heat wave of 2019 is over.
But it did not go away quietly.
Monday's storms battered the county, with high winds and driving rain toppling trees, bringing down power lines, and leaving a lot of people in the dark, and drivers taking endless detours to avoid downed trees and debris.
Brookhaven clocked some wind gusts at 80 mph.
The good news? Well, we are looking at what appears to be maybe the nicest stretch of days of the summer.
