Boiling Point: Chester Water is heating up

The contentious talks surrounding the Chester Water Authority are heating up.

Both physically and literally.

Yesterday Chester City Council again decided to seek bids from entities who might have an interest in buying Chester Water Authority. The city is looking for revenue to help in its bid to escape Act 47 'Distressed City' status.

At the meeting CWA representative Jim Turner got into a verbal exchange with Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland. Turner eventually was escorted from the meeting.

There was video of the heated situation.

Today the matter returns to a Delaware County courtroom, where a Delco judge will hear from both sides in the ongoing dispute over whether the city even has the authority to sell the utility, along with various counterclaims from CWA.

And finally the Chester Water Authority Board has its annual meeting today.

We'll keep you covered on all fronts.
