2 pols ensnared in child porn cases

The timing could have have been more ironic.

Phil Ahr, the former president of the Radnor Board of Commissioners, had just been sentenced in federal court to 151 months in prison for possession of child porn.

The federal prosecutor did no mince any words in describing the Main Line pol's actions online.

"Mr. Ahr was at the depraved levels," said Assistant United State Attorney Michelle Rotella. She described the children in the images found on Ahr's computer as being "horribly abused" and the chats he was taking part in as "the most horrible I've ever seen."

It's enough to leave you shaking your head.

Until a few minutes later, when an email arrives in your inbox from state Attorney General Josh Shapiro. He was announcing child porn charges against a state senator, Republican Sen. Mike Folmer of Lebanon County.

Ahr is a Democrat; Folmer is a Republican.

This isn't about politics. This is about something else altogether.

Ahr told the judge, "I was sick when I did this."

He'll get no argument from me.
