Another showdown, another letdown from Phils

Forget the Eagles for a moment. I know, it's hard.

Let's look at the Phillies. Yes, I know that's hard, too.

Once again this team put itself in a position to have a showdown series.

And once again they came up woefully short.

The Phillies went into last night's series opener in South Philly against the first-place Braves just two games out of that elusive second wild card slot.

They had their ace Aaron Nola on the mound.

And they came up woefully short.

Again.

A close look at these two rosters shows the Phillies to be light years behind the Braves, especially when it comes to developing their own talent.

The Phillies continue to be exasperatingly inconsistent.

One step forward, two steps back.

That's no way to make the playoffs.
