The numbers on Gabe Kapler

81-81.

161-163.

A .500 season and two games under .500 for two years of Gabe Kapler at the helm of the Phillies.

Those are the numbers that hang over the Kapler's head today.

The Phils lost their season finale to the Marlins yesterday, falling 4-3 to the Marlins.

It's certainly not the season anyone anticipated after owner John Middleton opened his wallet and $330 million spilled out to sign superstar outfielder Bryce Harper.

Harper's old team, the Nationals, are going to the playoffs. The Phillies are headed to the golf course.

But where is Kapler headed.

Is 81-81 good enough for Kapler to keep his job.

After yesterday's loss, Kapler did another one of his typical post-game performances, praising his players for their effort and fighting to the end.

But the end might be near for Kapler.

The only person who can answer the question of whether Kapler will be back lies with Middleton.

I get the feeling we're not going to have wait very long for the answer.
