Karma turns around on Eagles in Minnesota

You know what they say about karma?

Yeah, it's an itch.

Has anyone else noticed that karma seems to be flipping on the Eagles this year? A lot of the things that went into that magical Super Bowl season two years ago now are returning to haunt them.

First, they went to Atlanta, who they beat in the playoffs to reach the Super Bowl, and promptly lost.

Then they came back home and fell to Matt Patricia and the Detroit Lions. You might remember Patricia was the defensive coordinator of those New England Patriots.

Then it came full circle yesterday, when the Birds returned to their sight of their greatest glory - U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, where they beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

Unfortunately, yesterday they were playing the Vikings and Kirk Cousins. Yes, that same Kirk  Cousins who was denigrated by Birds' linebacker Zach Johnson - who was a teammate of Cousins' with the Redskins.

Cousins and the Vikings savaged the Eagles and their disastrous secondary. The Vikings QB went 22 of 29 for 333 yards, including three touchdown tosses to Stefon Diggs.

The Eagles players had no answers. Doug Pederson had no answers. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz certainly had no answers.

Pederson even resorted to another trick play - on the field where he and Nick Foles made the Philly Special part of the Philadelphia sports lore - and came up empty. A fake field goal blew up in their faces.

Yeah, karma is an itch.

Just ask Gabe Kapler.

It was that kind of weekend in Philly sports.
