Remember Howie Kendrick?

Here's a name for Phillies fans to keep in mind this morning.

No, it's not Bryce Harper - even though his old team, the Nationals, rallied again last night to beat the Astros in Houston and capture the franchise's first-ever World Series crown.

No, the name I have in mind is Howie Kendrick.

It was his homer that sparked the comeback that saw the Nats overcome a 2-0 deficit in the route to becoming the first team in baseball history to snag a championship by winning four games on the road.

If you don't remember Kendrick, let me refresh your memory.

He once was a Phillie.

Back in 2017, Kendrick was hitting .340 for the Phils, playing left field and second base. But injuries limited him to just 34 games and he was dealt to the Nationals at the trade deadline at the end of July.

Last night he was hoisting a World Series trophy.
