So where are all those people who consistently wondered what the point was of the Phillies snagging one of those National League Wild Card slots just so they could lost to the Dodgers?
Try selling that this morning in the nation's capital, you know, the town Bryce Harper used to play in.
Nationals' fans are still coming down from last night's thrilling win over Los Angeles to move on to the NLCS.
The Dodgers won 106 games in the regular season, but came unglued last night, including another woeful playoff performance from ace Clayton Kershaw, who entered the game as a reliever and promptly got dinged for two home runs on consecutive pitches, coughing up a lead.
And remember how good everyone was saying the Braves are? Their fans were barely in their seats in Atlanta last night when the Cardinals unloaded on them for a 10-spot in the first inning in a laugher to take the other NLDS game.
So it will be the Nationals vs. the Cardinals in the NLCS.
Please tell me the Nationals are not going to win a World Series in their first year without Bryce Harper.
As for the Phils? Well, still no word on Gabe Kapler. But at least we're not still debating the merits of the Wild Card chase.
