It might be time to put the wagons in a circle, fellas.
That was about as bad a loss as you will see, as the Eagles were humiliated in Dallas in front of a Sunday night prime time national TV audience.
And of course as the cracks begin to deepen in the Eagles' facade, there are those more than willing to take a few potshots. There is once again anonymous sources lobbing a few shells at the offense. Orlando Scandrick, who was cut for the second time by the team, ripped a few folks on the Birds' defense and also dredged up the old Nick Foles topic that some players would prefer him being behind center for the Birds.
That might not change Sunday as Carson Wentz will be going against one of the best defenses in the league, once again handicapped by the lack of a legitimate deep threat.
It will be more dink and dunk, along with heavy doses of Zach Ertz and Jordan Howard.
The Bills are not a blockbuster offense, but with this Eagles' defense who knows what they're capable of.
Look for Jake Elliott to be the Eagles offensive MVP again.
The Birds have not lost three straight since 2016, but they're staring that reality in the face.
As far as the Bills go, that 5-1 record is a bit deceiving, since they have yet to beat a team with a winning record. Of course, that will not change Sunday when the Eagles visit Buffalo with a surprising 3-4 mark.
The Bills' offense with Josh Allen at QB isn't scaring anyone. This might be the week for the Eagles to unleash on him and force him into some critical mistakes.
With the bye week looming, the last thing the Eagles want to do is have a three-game losing streak hanging over the team. Unfortunately, that's exactly the way I see it.
THE PICK: Make it Bills 23, Eagles 17. This is the wrong team for Carson Wentz and gang to try to right the ship against. I see another very long day for the offense and enough mistakes by the defense to cost the Birds the game.
LAST WEEK: Let's all just try to forget an eminently regrettable performance in Dallas. The Birds should have saved the airfare since they never bothered to show up in a thoroughly humiliating defeat. The loss dropped the Eagles a game under .500 at 3-4. My faith in the Birds to rally after a bad defeat in Minnesota was not rewarded. I stand at 4-3. I'm not making that same mistake again this week.
GAME BY GAME: Eagles 32, Redskins 27. (My Pick: Eagles 27, Redskins 13)
Falcons 24, Eagles 20. (My Pick: Falcons 29, Eagles 27)
Lions 27, Eagles 24: (My Pick: Eagles 26, Lions 23)
Eagles 34, Packers 27 (My Pick: Packers 33, Eagles 23)
Eagles 31, Jets 6 (My Pick: Eagles 31, Jets 13)
Vikings 38, Eagles 20 (My Pick: Vikings 27, Eagles 26)
Cowboys 37, Eagles 10 (My Pick: Eagles 24, Cowboys 23)
