The young men of Oxford High - 50 years later

50 years.

Doesn't seem that long.

Here's one more shout-out to the guys who formed the first football team in the history of Oxford High School.

In the fall of 1969, a small group of us fielded the first team to wear the maroon and white of Oxford High.

They are honoring that first team at the game this Friday night, Oct. 11.

I hope to see lots of old teammates there.

Yes, that's me, No. 12, sitting in the front row of this pic.

Might have been 100 pounds soaking wet. Not sure what I was thinking playing football. And I have the X-rays to prove it.

But I would not trade that experience for anything in the world.
