2 numbers for Philly sports: 0 and 5

0 and 5.

What do these two numbers have in common?

A lot, if you're a Philly sports fan.

0 would be the number of points scored by Sixers big man Joel Embiid last night against the Toronto Raptors. Embiid shot a miserable 0-for-11 from the field, and also took a goose egg at the foul line, missing all three of his attempts. He did grab a game-high 13 rebounds.

And the 5?

That's all the Eagles have to do to make the playoffs.

They have five games left, and if they win them all - voila! - they win the division and of course a trip to the NFL post-season.

Four of those games are against decidedly lousy teams.

But circle this one on the calendar.

Sunday, Dec. 22 at the Linc vs. the Dallas Cowboys. It's likely the NFC East title will come down to that game.

That is unless the Birds cough one up vs. the miserable Dolphins in Miami this weekend, followed by the Giants, Redskins and a return match with the Giants on the final Sunday of the season.

It says here the Birds take are of business against all of these inferior teams, meaning the season comes down to that one test vs. the Cowboys, unless of course Dak and the 'Boys cough up one of their own in the next month.

Here's who the Cowboys face: Bills, Bears, Rams, Eagles, Redskins. I could see them losing to any of those teams, except probably the lowly Redskins.
