I often joke that mine is a face that was made for the newspaper.
It turns out the same holds true for the radio.
My thanks for Tim Jimenez of KYW Newsradio 1060. Tim reached out bright and early Wednesday morning wanting to talk about the historic Tuesday election in which Democrats took control of Delaware County government for the first time in history.
Not only that, but the Dems now hold a commanding 5-0 majority on the board.
As I told Tim, the political world in Delco literally has been turned upside down. After decades of 5-0 Republican rulings by the board, Dems are now returning the favor.
First they took two seats two years ago, offering a minority voice on the 3-2 Republican board.
But then Monica Taylor, Elaine Schaefer and Christine Reuther ran the board Tuesday, meaning the Dems will now be flexing their muscles with an All-Democratic board.
I can only imagine the whispers that were going through the Media Courthouse yesterday.
You can hear my radio interview with Tim here.
And check out today's editorial page, where I offer another example of how things have changed in Delco. We suggest Republicans now will be offering a thought that has been on the lips of Democrats in Delco for decades.
It is a reminder that - after they are done celebrating - Dems would be wise to remember they represent the entire county.
It's a new world.
