Mike Chitwood became somewhat infamous for calling suspects "scumbags," "thugs" and "urban terrorists."
But that's not the reason I will remember him - and miss him dearly.
First of all, Chitwood was a newspaper man's dream - especially a guy who writes tabloid headlines for a living.
But there was another side to Chitwood, a side the public very rarely ever got the chance to see.
But I saw it just about every time I talked to the guy known as "Media Mike."
