The county budget is in place - and for the sixth straight year it does not include a tax hike.
Good news, right?
Well, that depends on whom you talk to.
For the three outgoing Republican members of council, it was the right thing do. They are tapping into the county's fairly healthy reserve fund to balance the books.
For the incoming Democrat majority, it is "kicking the can down the road" - and right into their laps. They believe the county is facing some major economic issues, and the Republicans have set this up so that they are leaving on an up economic note, and leaving the Dems to deal with the fallout.
