Update: The Dreaded (And Wet) Monday Eagles Pick

I always make my Dreaded Saturday Eagles Pick on Saturday, as that title would suggest.

Of course, the Birds play tonight, in a Monday night matchup at the Linc vs. the Giants.

That gives me the opportunity to revise my pick.

Don't worry, I'm still picking the Birds, but I do have some concerns.

First and foremost is the weather. It's going to be wet out there, which means this could be a game decided on the ground, with the team able to establish a solid rushing attack coming out on top.

That means less of Eli Manning (subbing for the injured Daniel Jones) and more of Saquon Barkley. If the Penn State product has a big night, it will be bag news for the Birds.

On the other side of the ball, you can make the argument that this team has not been the same since running back Jordan Howard went out with a stinger in his shoulder. It looks like he will miss tonight's game as well, meaning the bulk of the running game will again fall on rookie Miles Sanders.

If Doug Pederson again tries to have Carson Wentz throw the ball 50 times, this could easily turn into another embarrassing night for the Birds.

The latest forecast calls for the showers to move out just about game time, so maybe conditions won't be quite as bad as first expected.

The Eagles need this game. A win would draw them back into a tie with the Cowboys for the lead in the NFC East and allow the Birds to control their own destiny.
