Some song titles stick in your head forever. Others go in one ear and quickly out the other.
Not many do both.
Take "Wings for Wheels" for instance.
It was performed for the first time on this date - Feb. 5 - back in 1975 at the legendary Main Point.
A scrawny kid from New Jersey took the stage with his band to perform some new material from the album he had been working on.
Maybe you've heard of him.
His name was Bruce Springsteen.
He changed some of the lyrics, including the name of the girl he focused on.
But most importantly, he eventually changed the name of the song.
Thus was born "Thunder Road."
"Screen door slams, Mary's dress waves
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays."
Notice the name. Mary, not the original Angelina.
If you're a serious Springsteen-file, you might want to check out a show of rare Springsteen photos taken by legendary local photog Phil Ceccola, who captured much of Springsteen's early days.
The show is opening today at Coll's Custom Framing & Gallery in Conshohocken.
Which, of course, gives birth to the show's own title, "Greetings from Conshohocken."
If I have to remind you of the importance of that play on words, then you're not really a serious boss fan.
