Miss the snow? Go back a decade

Don't hold your breath waiting for me to complain about the rain.

Why?

Let me take you back 10 years.

On Feb. 11, 2010, we were bearing the brunt of the latest blizzard to slam the region. The official count was 14 inches of snow at Philadelphia International Airport.

It had actually started snowing on and off several days before. By the time it was over - spanning Feb. 5 through 11, we got hammered by an astounding 44.3 inches of snow.

That brought the winter's total snow accumulation to 70.3 inches, eclipsing the previous winter mark of 65.54 inches set in 1996-96, which of course included the famous 33-inch blizzard.

And it was only Feb. 10.

Luckily, we got something of a break after that. The winter of 2010 eventually melted away, but not before 78.7 inches of snow fell on the region.

Yeah, I'll take the rain anytime.

Even if it means keeping a wary eye on a stubborn leak in my roof.

Don't hold your breath waiting for me to get up there to fix it.
