Punxsutawney Phil apparently meant business

Looks like Punxsutawney Phil meant business.

The famous prognosticating rodent pokes his head out of his shows at Gobbler's Nob first thing Sunday morning, failed to see his shadow, and immediately predicted an early spring.

Early, as in today.

Yes, we're getting off to a chilly start. But we'll come close to 60 degrees this afternoon and temperatures will remain in the 50s most of the week.

The overnight low tonight into Tuesday will be 45. In the first week of February we struggle to hit that for a high.

And best of all, snow remains a rumor.

We had just a trace of snow in January and there is nothing in the extended forecast.

Of course, we've had snow in March and April, so I would not put the shovel or snow blower away just yet.

A few more weeks like this and I will have to consider breaking out the golf clubs.
