Raise your hand if you feared an Embiid injury

It was the very first thing I thought of when word came in that Sixers' point guard Ben Simmons was going to be out with an "impinged nerve" in his back.

No, not how the team would survive without its most versatile player.

My fear was that the team was now banking on the very injury prone Joel Embiid.

Bang!

Last night, in a truly hideous road loss, Embiid suffered a shoulder sprain, left the game and did not return.

In his absence, the team lost 108-94. Embiid played just 8 minutes and scored 3 points.

The severity of the injury and whether Embiid will be available tonight against the Knicks is not yet known.

Embiid had his arm in a sling after the game.

The same could be said of the team as well.
