At first glance, Billy Johnson and Colin Jones might not appear to much in common.
I beg to differ.
Colin is the manager of the Interboro High School boys basketball team.
Johnson is the Chichester High and Widener product who had a sterling career in the NFL.
They were both in the news last week.
Colin received a special honor from his Interboro High teammates. Along the way, he and his teammates - in fact the entire Interboro community - taught us a great lesson about what sports is at its core.
Johnson, "White Shoes" to so many of us, was on the field for the special great 100 players in NFL history celebration at the Super Bowl.
Johnson was one serious omission from his resume, one I am hoping the NFL rectifies. He needs a gold jacket, emblematic of induction into the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
That would give him something in common with Colin.
They're both Hall of Famers in my book.
I wrote about it in today's Letter From the Editor.
