A flurry of coronavirus updates

These days if you blink, you can miss a lot in our coverage of the coronavirus pandemic.

In today's paper you will find:

* County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and the Delco courts are moving to reduce the inmate population at the county's George W. Hill Correctional Facility, which has suffered a serious outbreak of the coronavirus. Three inmates and nine staffers have tested positive.

The courts are working to expedite plea bargains for almost 100 individuals this week to time served; as well as expediting video conference hearings this week for more than 50 inmates incarcerated for violations of probation or parole; and creating an early parole program initiated by President Judge Kevin F. Kelly.

Yes, the reaction was about what you would expect. I was bombarded on social media and comments on our website that this is what you get when you elect a George Soros-funded clone of Philly D.A. Larry Krasner.

So much for any sense of understanding during a pandemic.

* Glen Mills Schools is set to serve as a federal medical station to handle overflow COVID-19 patients who are stable enough to be placed outside hospital but should not be at home. U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon worked to cut the deal.

* And Wawa continues to be affected by the pandemic. Starting this morning, they are eliminating made-to-order food items at all stores in the city of Philadelphia. It does not include suburban stores.
