A world without sports

We are in unchartered territory: A world without sports.

Just about every major league has shut down in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The NBA? Suspended.

The NHL: On ice.

Major League Baseball? Season delayed.

Major League Soccer? Booted. No home opener for the Union in Chester Saturday night.

March Madness? Try March Sadness. The NCAA has canceled the hoops tournament.

Hell, I won't even be able to get my weekly dose of the PGA. The tour yesterday halted The Players Championship and said the tour would shut down for several weeks. The Masters could be in jeopardy.

Looking for some action at the high school level? Forget it. The PIAA has halted the state winter sports boys and girls hoops tournaments.

Eventually, the games will be back. Life will return to normal.

But for now, it's an eerie, barren landscape out there for sports fans.
