There goes my candidate

Well, so much for my candidate.

Yes, I was an Elizabeth Warren fan. Still am.

My appreciation for her started long before she ran for the White House.

This goes back to when she took on the banks that rig the economy in favor of the "haves" and leave the "have-nots" left to scramble to make ends meet.

While Democrats slung arrows at each other, she was the candidate who talked issues. But she did more than just talk. She actually had ideas, and plans to accomplish her goals.

At one point early in the campaign, she enjoyed a surge, but she never really got any traction once people started to actually vote. She didn't win a single caucus or primary, not even in her home state of Massachusetts.

Thursday morning she joined the growing list of Democrats to fall on their sword, suspending her campaign. That gives her something in common with Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Mike Bloomberg.

Ironically, it was Warren who stuck a pin in the Bloomberg balloon, eviscerating him on the debate stage. Bloomberg never recovered.

So now the Democratic race is down to a two-man race.

Yes, two old white guys, both in their 70s. Not a women. Not a person of color.

The Democrats will nominate either Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., or former Vice President Joe Biden.

I'm not sure either one of them beats President Trump.
