So much for the optimistic view.
Welcome to Week 3 of our new world order.
After offering an 'aspirational' view that we could the country could return to normal by Easter Sunday, President Trump Sunday offered a bit more sober view. The president extended social distancing recommendations until the end of April.
One of his top advisers, Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the nation's foremost experts on infectious diseases, offered an even more depressing look at what lies ahead.
Fauci suggested the total number of Americans infected with the coronavirus could reach into the millions, and that between 100,000 to 200,000 people could lose their lives.
In the meantime, the numbers here continue to spike.
It seems like the state adds another 500 cases each day. Right now the total is fast approaching 4,000.
Here in Delaware County, the number is 276, with five deaths.
The Pennsylvania death toll stands at 38.
So, brace yourself for another week of hunkering down.
