I did not think I was being especially prescient when I wrote today's editorial.
It was simply a reminder of the grim reality we face now that we are several weeks into this coronavirus pandemic.
Apparently that message is now being heard in Washington as well.
Gone are any notion of dismissing the seriousness of the outbreak. Or how difficult the next few weeks are going to be.
That word comes from President Donald Trump, who warned the country to brace for a “hell of a bad two weeks.” The White House projected there could be 100,000 to 240,000 deaths in the U.S. from the coronavirus pandemic.
And that is a best-case scenario - even if current social distancing guidelines are maintained.
